Amidst the choppy sea, Tim’s head could be seen bobbing up and down. Above him, a whirling sound of a helicopter could be heard. Screaming for help, his cries go unheard as the sounds of the waves crashing around him muffed his screams. Looking behind him, the helicopter seemed to be scanning the area of the now fast sinking cruise liner. Holding on to the buoy, Tim slowly start to claw at the sea to reach the wreckage.
Above the doomed ship, a floodlight shine brightly from the Coast Guard’s helicopter. In it, two coast guards scan thru the choppy waters trying to look for survivors. Tim, finally reaching the wreckage, notice that ahead of him is a girl struggling to keep afloat. Tim stretch out his arm and pull her towards the buoy he is clinging on. On the helicopter, one coast guard notice a bright red buoy bobbing up and down. Focusing the floodlight on it, he could distinctly make out two figures clinging on to it. Signaling to the pilot, the helicopter hover away from the wreckage and towards the buoy.
Hovering above the buoy, with the floodlight shining upon the two survivors, one coast guard reach into the back of the helicopter and pull out an AK-47 assault rifle. Inserting the magazine, he aim at the two survivors. Before he could pull the trigger, a huge wave appear from behind and crash onto the helicopter. Wobbling in mid air, the pilot try to maintain stability but spinning out of control, the helicopter spin over Tim and the girl and out into the darkness. As Tim look ahead, a large explosion of red and orange light the stormy sea.

They’re not bad, but they’re over-dependent on cliche. It’s hard to generate an original story when the opener directs us in such a familiar direction.
